Award-winning journalist and communications executive brings more than two decades of media, marketing and public relations experience to the role
The Asphalt Institute has named Tamara Davis as its new Vice President of Marketing and Membership, bringing more than two decades of experience in broadcast journalism, public relations and strategic communications to the international trade association.
Davis will lead Asphalt Institute’s marketing, communications and member engagement efforts as the organization continues to expand its reach and strengthen connections with asphalt industry professionals and businesses internationally.
Davis joins the Asphalt Institute from PriceWeber, a Louisville-based advertising and marketing agency, where she served as Senior Vice President of Public Relations and Social Media. She led strategic communications, media relations and social media initiatives for clients across a range of industries, with projects earning dozens of awards from the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), Telly Awards, PRWeek, PRNEWS and PR Daily.
Before moving into public relations and marketing, Davis spent her early career in television news as an award-winning anchor and reporter in Kentucky. Her journalism work earned recognition from the Kentucky Associated Press and the Society of Professional Journalists, as well as a regional Edward R. Murrow Award.
“Tamara brings a unique combination of journalism, public relations and marketing experience that will help us strengthen how we communicate the value of the Asphalt Institute and engage with our members,” said Reed Ryan, President of the Asphalt Institute. “Her ability to build relationships and communicate complex topics clearly will be a tremendous asset to our association and the industry we serve.”
In her new role, Davis will oversee brand strategy, communications, media relations, events and member engagement and recruitment initiatives. She will also work closely with association leadership and member marketing and membership committees to advance initiatives supporting asphalt producers, manufacturers and affiliated businesses worldwide.
