Posted February 16th, 2010

The new Asphalt Academy webinars make it easy to earn professional development hours (PDHs) without leaving the office.

On Wednesday, March 17 Asphalt Institute (AI) Regional Engineer Dave Johnson will present a “Pavement Management Systems” webinar. Road managers, highway engineers, agency personnel and pavement decision makers will learn about the principles of a PMS and the potential benefits.

On Thursday, March 25 AI Regional Engineer Danny Gierhart will discuss “Interpreting Asphalt Test Results” webinar. Technicians, engineers, planners, contractors and others can learn the purpose of each test as well as the possible ramifications of a test failure.

On Wednesday, March 31 AI Regional Engineer Bob Horan will provide an update on “Intelligent Compaction (IC) – A Smart Innovation.” State, city and county officials as well as engineers, consultants, federal agency employees and other can hear about the ongoing IC Pooled Fund project and tandem drum roller innovations.

FHWA’s Lee Gallivan will help introduce the IC concept and the benefits to both agencies and contractors.

Each session has a $25 registration fee and lasts from 90 minutes to 2 hours. All three sessions begin at noon (EST). The fee includes downloads of presentation slides. Early registration is suggested. One hours of professional development (PDH) is available when requested during registration.
